And I'm not sure where McCain was going with his reference to veterans with their hats. Who said anything about them? I don't recall anyone claiming that the terrible outbursts were shouted by veterans.
I agree. The people I was watching with all agreed that it was a strange reference. Never before had we heard anything about it being veterans and it seems like this just came out of nowhere.
It left me strange. I think he was just trying to tie into a demographic that historically he does well with.
Well, I think McCain simply wants to make sure that he does not upset that people who strongly feel the hate that they have expressed at rallies. Because if he upsets them, they may not vote at all - they surely will not vote for Obama.
